And here is the poem she entered......hope you enjoy it!
Day Break
The moon is like a silver crest,
Upon a looking-glass.
And every time a tear drop falls,
It ripples like wind-blown grass.
Trees are casting shadows,
Onto the water deep.
So tall and so majestic,
The sky seems to weep.
Long gone is all the sunshine,
The clouds are like grey cotton.
And memories of sunshine,
Seem to be forgotten.
But, lo! Here comes a flame of red,
Seeped with tangerine!
As the sun comes up so slow,
It seems just like a dream.
The sky lights up with newfound joy,
Another day’s begun.
And maybe, just maybe,
It will be as wonderful,
As the last one.
