We are so proud to announce that Grace was the top winner in her age group at ECCT's Starquest 2011 held on December 3rd. We always knew she had a chance, but after hearing the other ten kids sing in her age category, we were not so sure if she was going to win, get runner up or perhaps not even place at all. The other kids were very talented as well. So it was all the more sweet when Grace won! Miss Wisconsin was the emcee of the evening and despite the snowy weather and bad roads we had 13 adults and 7 kids in the audience to cheer her on. Well, we also had all her friends at ECCT cheer her on as well. But frankly I was screaming so loud, I could not hear anyone else. I have to say, as her mom, I was pretty nervous about this whole competition thing and I am very pleased that she does not have to do this competition again. It's like American Idol, you win only once. But she gets to be the Vocal Ambassador for ECCT for the next year and come back and perform as a guest in next year's Starquest 2012 competition. So that is not as nerve wracking for Grace.....or me!
