Excuse me... while I grab a tissue

My baby Elsie turned one year old last week...where does the time go? I am very excited to start this new chapter in my life and spend my thoughts, time and energy on helping my little brood of five grow up...but a very small part of me is a little sad that I will never be the mother to a baby again...sigh...but life keeps marching on and I know our family will love the new experiences that life will continue to give us...it's time to look forward...

Here is Elsie on her actual first birthday, Wednesday September 21,2011. She ate almost the entire vanilla cupcake and didn't even get messy!

Elsie's Sunflower Party

For her big party on September 24, 2011 we had 50 loving family and friends here to help Elsie celebrate her very special day! Everyone had a great time going on hayrides and enjoying the beautiful day. Elsie did sooo good and was super happy all day! I had so much fun with her Sunflower themed first birthday. I wanted to make it extra special since it was my last big birthday party!
I recovered a piece of framed art with fabric and hung a few of Elsie's "one year" photos in front of it.
I went with  black, white and sunflower gold for the colors! I looked all over the internet for ideas and found some really great stuff. Click my pinterest button (to the right) and you will see where I got my ideas from!
I spray painted this little pumpkin from my garden and mod- podged the letter E for Elsie!
And here she is with her little appliqued sunflower shirt and black tu-tu! Isn't she cute!

Happy first birthday baby Elsie...no matter how old you are, you will always be my baby!
